Part-Time Storage Attendant
The Storage Unit Attendant supports the Property Management team by overseeing the daily operation of the apartment community’s resident storage units. This position is responsible for assisting residents with storage rentals, maintaining accurate records, conducting routine inspections, ensuring storage areas are clean and secure, and providing excellent customer service. The Storage Unit Attendant works closely with the leasing and management staff to ensure the storage amenity is well-maintained and efficiently managed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with renting, transferring, and vacating storage units.
- Prepare and maintain storage rental agreements and resident records.
- Process storage payments and maintain accurate account documentation.
- Coordinate with the Property Management team regarding resident accounts, move-ins, move-outs, and storage availability.
- Conduct routine inspections of storage areas to ensure cleanliness, organization, safety, and compliance with community policies.
- Monitor storage units for lease compliance and report unauthorized use, abandoned property, or maintenance concerns.
- Perform light housekeeping within storage areas, including sweeping, removing debris, and maintaining common areas.
- Report maintenance issues and coordinate repairs with the maintenance team as needed.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of available and occupied storage units.
- Assist with lock changes, unit assignments, and access coordination.
- Respond promptly and professionally to resident questions, concerns, and requests related to storage rentals.
- Follow company policies regarding delinquent storage accounts, notices, and unit recovery procedures.
- Support the Property Management office with additional administrative or resident service tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in property management, leasing, customer service, or administrative support is preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and property management software.
- Ability to maintain confidential resident information.
- Detail-oriented with excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a property management team.
Physical Requirements:
- Walk the property and storage areas throughout the day.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Bend, stoop, climb stairs, and perform light cleaning duties.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with property management software (RealPage or similar).
- Knowledge of fair housing principles and resident relations.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
